Colissimo from ShipStation offers domestic and international services to accounts based in France and Monaco.

This guide provides developers with the details needed to build Colissimo from ShipStation shipping capabilities into your ShipStation API workflows.

ShipStation API also allows you to connect your own existing Colissimo (part of La Poste) account, and the requirements and service details are different than those for Colissimo from ShipStation. Requirements

  • A ShipStation API account based in France or Monaco.
  • ShipStation Carriers must be activated for the account and have a positive account balance to create labels. See our Using ShipStation Carriers page for details about activating in your account.

Please note that certain Colissimo services share the same API code for both domestic and international shipments. In these cases, the system will automatically apply the appropriate service based on the destination address.

Adding Shipment Insurance

Support for adding insurance to shipments is available with Colissimo from ShipStation. You can also add Parcelguard protection to Colissimo from ShipStation shipments.

  • Insurance Tiers: Available coverage levels include increments of €150, €300, €500, €1,000, €2,000, and €5,000.
  • Currency and Provider: To ensure successful validation, insurance must be declared in EUR currency with the insurance_provider field set to "CARRIER".
  • API Processing: The insurance value is automatically validated against these specific tiers and converted into cents prior to transmission to the Colissimo API.
  • Service Availability: Insurance options are available across all service levels without any specific restrictions.

  • Label formats: PDF, ZPL

Label Reference Fields

Colissimo from ShipStation does not support adding custom label messages.

Multi-Package Labels

Colissimo from ShipStation does not support multi-package shipments.

Label Branding

Colissimo from ShipStation does not support label branding.

Voiding Labels

Colissimo from ShipStation supports voiding labels with ShipStation API. The request to void a label needs to happen before the first parcel scan by the carrier.

Paperless Labels

Colissimo from ShipStation does not support creating paperless labels.

Customs Declarations

CN23 labels are automatically provided for international shipments. No additional forms need to be downloaded or printed.

NOTE: Action Required: New Zealand Border Levy Changes

Effective April 1, 2026, a new NZD $2.21 (+ GST) levy applies to low-value air freight consignments entering New Zealand. This levy is charged per consignment, not per item.

Advanced Options

Colissimo from ShipStation supports certain advanced options, which you can add to the shipment object when creating a shipment or label.

Manifests

Colissimo from ShipStation supports but does not require manifesting your shipments.

Non-machineable

Enable this option to identify parcels requiring manual handling. This feature is not available for PUDO services, and other standard options such as Saturday Delivery, COD, or Alcohol shipments are not supported.

Scheduling Pickups

Colissimo from ShipStation supports scheduling pickups. All pickups default to the following business day.

Drop-off

Shippers must use the LaPoste Localiser un point de contact La Poste website to identify a suitable drop-off location.

Service Points (PUDO)

Colissimo from ShipStation "Drop Off" services must be dropped off at a service point.

  • A 6-character maximum service_point_id is required.
  • A mobile number is strictly mandatory and must follow specific formats (e.g., starting with 0, 33, or +33 followed by 8 digits).

Tracking

Colissimo from ShipStation supports receiving tracking updates. Review our ​Track a Package guides​​ for details on tracking with the ShipStation API.

File Claims

  • Required Documentation for Lost Claims: For Colissimo Enterprise lost parcel claims, the required documentation primarily includes proof of deposit, a commercial invoice to verify the value of the goods, and a signed statement of non-receipt from the recipient.
  • Required documentation for Damaged Claims: To file a damaged goods claim with Colissimo Entreprise, you must provide specific documentation, including photos of the damage (both item and packaging) and proof of value such as a commercial invoice. Repair estimates may also be required in certain cases.
  • Time-frame to File Claims:
    • Lost Parcel: Claims must be filed within 70 calendar days from the date the label was purchased/shipment created. Colissimo typically considers a domestic parcel lost if there has been no tracking movement for 6 business days (international can be longer, up to 30 days depending on the destination).
    • Damaged Items: Claims for visible damage must be reported within a tight window: 3 calendar days from the date of delivery.
