• What are the differences between these APIs?

  The ShipStation API (formerly ShipEngine) is our end-to-end, stand-alone shipping API that we have rebranded as ShipStation API: same great capabilities, new name. It provides the richest developer functionality and multiple market shipping origin support, as well as the largest catalog of carriers and services in the industry. As we work to improve our API capabilities, over time, these products will become one API offering.
• Can I use more than one API together?

  Yes. Given that keys have been generated for each API respectively, an implementation can be built with a combination if desired. Note that you will not be able to access endpoints for each API without using the appropriate corresponding keys.
• How do I access each API?

  You can sign up for the standalone ShipStation API here, alternatively, you can access the Companion APIs by creating a ShipStation Account here.
• Can I use the ShipStation API platform with my ShipStation account?

  No. A ShipStation API account is separate from a ShipStation account and they do need to be created and managed separately.
• Do I need an account to try the APIs?

  Standalone ShipStation API: Yes, we provide a 30-day trial for sandbox environments. This provides you with an easy way to test the API using mock carrier accounts.
